SUMMARY:BIFA Virtual YFN - An introduction to the use of ATA Carnets
DESCRIPTION:The first virtual YFN of 2025 will be held on the 22nd of January\, starting at 1530. \nWe’ll be joined by Kiel Ursin\, ATA Carnet Specialist and Curt Wilson\, Managing Director\, Boomerang Carnets UK \nDuring this presentation\, Kiel and Curt will look at the uses of carnets\, their benefits\, how they should be handled and controlled\, what can go wrong and how to deal with issues. \nA Carnet or ATA Carnet is a temporary passport for goods.  It is used to clear customs in 90 countries without paying duty and import tax on goods that will be re-exported within 12 months.  In the U.K. there are two types of carnets issued: ATA and EC/CPD/China-Taiwan carnets.  ATA Carnets are used for the 90 countries that are members of the carnet scheme. EC/CPD/China-Taiwan carnets are used for temporary exports to Taiwan which only accepts the EC/CPD/China-Taiwan carnet.  Most goods can be listed on a Carnet. The carnet can be used multiple times and in multiple countries during the period of validity. ATA Carnet use facilitates expansion into new markets and can jump start an export program within a company or by an individual. Freight cleared through customs with an ATA Carnet is known as boomerang freight. \nIf you are interested in attending this event\, please register HERE
