DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at Europe’s busiest ferry port? \nThen why not invite one of your young colleagues to join us for an exclusive\, interactive\, behind-the-scenes tour of The Port of Dover. \nThe Port is a vital international gateway for the movement of passengers and trade\, handling annually more than 11.7 million passengers\, 2.5 million lorries and berths\, approximately 17\,500 ships each year\, including the largest ferries afloat today. \nTogether with its unrivalled road links connecting the port to distribution hubs in Kent\, the Midlands and elsewhere in the UK\, Dover handles more freight lorries than all other UK ports combined. \nThere will be an opportunity for delegates to field questions and they will leave with a better understanding of the port’s importance within Europe\, and see first-hand the development taking place. \nITINERARY \n10.00               Registration – Harbour House\, Car Park \n10.15               Travel to Western Docks \n10.25               Welcome and Introductions – MOTIS\, Western Docks \n10:35               Tour of MOTIS & Border Force facilities \n12.00               Lunch in MOTIS Café \n13.15               Travel to Harbour House \n13.30               Travel to Eastern Docks \n13.45               Visit Border Force examination facilities\, Terminal Control and Emergency Co-ordination Centre (ECC) \n15.45               Return to Harbour House via White Cliffs viewpoint (weather dependant) \n16.30               Depart \n  \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION \n\nNumbers are restricted to 17 people\, so only register if you know you can make it.\nPart of this event may take place outside; appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear is essential.\nThis is a working port and attendees are expected to follow health and safety instructions at all times.\nPlease bring your own Hi-Viz if you have one\n\nThis FREE event is ONLY open to employees (under the age of 32 or new to the industry) of BIFA member companies. DESCRIPTION:FREE ADR Awareness Course!\n📅 Thursday 31st July\n🕤 09:30 – 15:30\n📌 Heywood\, Lancashire\nJoin our exclusive ADR Awareness Course for YFN members! \nItal Logistics is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary and to celebrate\, seven lucky YFN members are invited to attend a FREE ADR Awareness training course! \nDangerous goods is a big part of Ital’s business\, and they employ their own Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) and provide training courses for other BIFA members. \nCourse content includes:\n✅ Laws and legislation – why everyone involved in the carriage of dangerous goods should have awareness training\n✅ The difference between Dangerous and Hazardous\n✅ Safety data sheets\n✅ Classes and packing groups\n✅ Exemptions for low quantity loads and limited quantities\n✅ Types of packaging – How to mark and label these\n✅ Documentation – how to raise these with correct information \nThis is an interactive and hands on course and attendees will have plenty of opportunity to practice marking and labelling packaging along with raising dangerous goods notes 📦 \nSpaces will be booked on a first come first served basis. To ensure fairness to all BIFA YFN members\, only one place per company is permitted. However\, if a second person from the same company would like to attend\, they will be added to the waiting list and contacted if a space becomes available. Line manager approval is required to minimise any last-minute cancellations and no-shows. \nThis event is now fully booked. Please email Carl Hobbis on c.hobbis@BIFA.org to be added to the waitlist.
