SUMMARY:BIFA Member Event - BIFA STC: An overview and practical application
DESCRIPTION:  \nDear BIFA Member\, \nOne of the core services of BIFA Membership is the provision of well-established and respected BIFA Standard Trading Conditions (STC). \nThe Association receives many enquiries about the STC including how to incorporate the STC into all contracts with customers\, which is one of the main strands of this seminar.  Ensuring incorporation is properly conducted and evidenced is one of the main means for Members to protect their business from claims\, should problems occur.  Members must bear in mind that if the STC are not incorporated that the Member cannot benefit from their protection. \nThe other main element of the seminar will be an examination of the most important clauses within the STC which Members need to fully understand to manage the forwarding contracts between themselves\, the customer and other parties.  Many do not appreciate the complexities of moving cargo across the globe and the STC have created contractual arrangements which are seen as being fair and balanced.  It is noteworthy that in many Common Law nations similar trading conditions have been adopted. \nIn order to maximise the benefits of the seminar\, prior to the event Members are encouraged to download the following documents: \n\nthe BIFA STC 2021 (England edition) at https://dev.bifa.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/bifa-stc-2021-england-edition.pdf  and;\nthe guidance document on the STC 107280_Know_Your_Trading_Conditions_2021_v3.pdf (dev.bifa.org/)\n\nThese documents are available in the Member only section of the BIFA website and Member Login is required.  If experiencing difficult logging in\, please contact  BIFAcomms@bifa.org for assistance. \nThe webinar will be hosted by Member Policy & Compliance Director\, Robert Windsor \n \n  \nThis webinar will be hosted on MS Teams\, register here to secure your place. \n
