DESCRIPTION:The aim of the meeting is to ensure that you are fully briefed on key issues that may impact your business and to give you the chance to share your views with fellow members. \nGuest Speakers: \nRichard Steeples Head of FEDAT (Freight Engagement and Data Lead) Border Force will give an update and take questions on Safety and Security. \nJames Francis\, DP World Commercial Manager Shipping Lines will update on activities and developments at the Southampton Port. \nSteve Freemen\, Board member of the Rail Freight Group and Chairman of RailX\, will present RAILX\, the digital platform and train booking App providing access to intermodal rail across the UK. \nThe South Hampshire College Group in collaboration with BIFA\, will explain the 2025 plans to further develop skills and careers in Logistics and Freight Forwarding. \nAdnan Zaheer from Icustoms will give a presentation on how AI can be used for Trade Compliance processes and respond to questions from the members. \nWe will have updates from the BIFA team on: \n• Customs: key changes and timeline overview – 2025\n• Air Freight\, Surface\, and Legal matters\n• Heathrow Cargo Community Activity and the Cargo redevelopment programme\n• Environment & Sustainability: The Sustainable Logistics Ecosystem Map designed to help members navigate the world of sustainability\n• Member Engagement: scheduled events and improving member contact details accuracy and access to the BIFA website portal\n• Training and Development including the launch of BIFA bitesize e learning modules accessed via the BIFA portal.
