We’re thrilled to welcome Jane Stone, Senior Pilot for Harwich Haven Authority (HHA) as our special guest speaker.

HHA plays a vital role in keeping one of the UK’s most significant trading gateways moving safely and efficiently. Managing navigation for some of the world’s largest vessels, the Authority is responsible for pilotage, vessel traffic services, conservation, and maintaining safe access to key commercial ports such as Felixstowe, Harwich International, and London Gateway.

Jane is a trailblazing marine pilot and one of the few women in the UK to steer colossal container ships safely into ports such as Felixstowe, Ipswich, and Harwich. With deep-rooted expertise navigating the complex tides, channels, and currents of the Orwell and Stour, Jane brings authority and authenticity to her work – guiding massive vessels with precision and calm.

Jane will give a fascinating insight into the challenges, rewards, and daily realities of life at the helm in one of Britain’s busiest seaports.
