BIFA Regional Members Meeting – Heathrow

Join us to be fully briefed on the key issues impacting your business and to share your views with fellow members and the BIFA team. We will be joined by external guest speakers who will update us on a variety of local topics.

 

Guest Speakers

Steve Parker, BIFA Director General will update us on the latest developments relating to the Heathrow Air Cargo Community Advisory Body and the rollout plans for the landside movements for imports and exports.

As we have done in previous meetings this year, we will run short breakout groups to get input from members on this project.

Carol Rayfield from Border Force will update us on Safety and Security, followed by a Q&A covering: Compliance procedures for ENS declarations and GVMS, repercussions with those carriers/intermediaries failing to address notified compliance issues and the mandatory use of the ENS declaration MRN within the GMR.

 

Additional Meeting Topics

During the meeting, we will also be joined by members of BIFA’s policy & compliance team with their updates in each of their respective areas.

Robert Windsor, Senior Policy Advisor, will cover:
• The 2025 edition of BIFA’s Standard Trading Conditions: The 4 key documents that have been created, and the common questions raised by other members
• BIFA’s engagement with Companies House, including the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, improving data quality and preventing fraud

Igor Popovics, Policy Advisor for Customs, will cover:
• The latest updates on Customs from HMRC and the key points from the latest Customs Policy Group meeting held on November 27th

Jamie McKean, Policy Advisor for Sustainability, will cover:
• The latest initiatives and information developed by BIFA’s Sustainability Policy Group

The BIFA team will also brief attendees on:
Air, Road, Rail, and Port updates including Dover, London Gateway, Felixstowe, and DP World Southampton
Training & Development: the latest modules available to members via BIFA Bitesize e-Learning
BIFA Member Engagement: scheduled events, member data accuracy and access to the BIFA website portal
BIFA Member PR Database: Join our PR segment within our existing mailing list and be among the first to receive media enquiries/publicity opportunities on the industry’s most pressing issues

Tea, coffee, and snacks will be available before and after the meeting giving members an opportunity to network with colleagues.
