BIFA Regional Members Meeting – Heathrow

The meeting will be chaired by BIFA Regional Representative Paul Cunningham and attended by other relevant BIFA personnel.

Members will get information on BIFA activity with HM Revenue and Customs and other Governmental/regulatory bodies at national level.

Guest speakers for this meeting:

Andy Cooke, BIFA External Affairs Consultant is leading our involvement in the Heathrow Cargo Estate Re-development Project. He will cover two key areas:

• An update on how the BIFA Advisory Body Working Group will engage and represent the interests our members
• A short, structured session of discussion and member feedback to identify the main challenges for each of the key stakeholders in the Landside Congestion Project. The initial questions we seek to address will be sent out before the meeting, so members have time to prepare their views.

Kelly Hobson, vice chair of the BIFA Sustainable Logistics Policy Group, will present and discuss the business case justification for freight forwarders to develop a credible and compliant sustainability strategy.

Josh Finch TT Club Logistics Risk Manger will present latest data and responses on Freight Crime and Damage.

Border Force Heathrow will be in attendance. If you have any questions for the Border Force representatives, please send them in advance to p.cunningham@bifa.org so responses can be prepared.

We will have updates from the BIFA team on:

• Key points from the BIFA National Conference held May 14th/15^th
• The major review of the Standard Terms and Conditions: main changes being considered and timing of release to members
• Customs: key changes and timeline overview – 2025
• Air, Ocean, Road and Rail freight developments including updates on Southampton, London Gateway and Felixstowe
• Member Engagement: demonstration of the improved and controlled access for all members staff to the BIFA website portal though the creation of member BIFA portal administrators
• Training and Development including the further development of BIFA bitesize e learning modules accessed via the BIFA portal.

Attendees will have an opportunity for a two-way dialogue between members and the Association and to raise issues of concern or interest.
