BIFA Regional Members Meeting – Avonmouth

This meeting is being held at the College to mark the launch of BIFA’s collaboration with the City of Bristol College to provide freight and logistics skills training courses.

Join us at the session for updates and discussions about the key issues impacting your business and to share your views with fellow members and the BIFA team.
We will also be joined by our line-up of guest speakers to give you external updates on a range of industry hot topics

Meeting Topics

BIFA and the City of Bristol College Collaboration
There will be a presentation by the college team and BIFA and discussion with members about:
• the results of the recent survey that identified the skills requirements of our members
• our plans to obtain funding for future logistics courses
• the information and guidance required by students on careers and apprenticeships in freight forwarding
• how members can encourage students to take a career in forwarding by attending the College’s careers events
• the government funded training courses available to members, provided by the college

There will be an update on the Heathrow Air Cargo Community Advisory Body and the rollout plans for the landside movements for imports and exports. Your views and ideas on this project will be passed to the Landside Working Group.
There will also be Border Force updates on Safety and Security, covering: Compliance procedures for ENS declarations and GVMS, and the mandatory use of the ENS declaration MRN within the GMR
